IMPHAL, September 14: Thangmeiband MLA, Kh Joykishan, today distributed old age pension cards of the constituency during a simple function held at his residence.
The pension cards distribution program was organised by the Thangmeiband Kendra development organisation (TAKDO).
The function was also attended by TAKDO president, M Rajendro; advisor TAKDO, S Bijoy Singh and K Naba, ex Councillor ward Number 2, as the presidium members.
Speaking at the function, S Bijoy advisor TAKDO, said that for the past many years, elders of the Thangmeiband constituency were not able to get the old age pension cards, however due to the hard work and the sincere effort of the MLA concerned altogether 210 new old age Pension cards has been approved by the Social Welfare department.
Sating that the card holder will get Rs 200 per month, Bijoy assured that TAKDO will help the card holders to open their bank accounts to ensure that the elderly get their deserving rights.
The gathering also condemned the powerful bomb blast at Khoyathong. It may be mentioned that, N Somorendro the President of Thangmeiband Kendra Trinamol Congress who is also the advisor of TAKDO received injuries on his chest and right hand during the blast.
