IMPHAL, September 20: Highlighting the problem of bankruptcy and complete failure persisting in the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) and as a follow up of the previous memorandum served on October 26, 2012, the Tribal Youth Council; Manipur (TYCM) has submitted another memorandum to the Governor of Manipur today urging him to take up necessary action against the MTDC as it has failed to serve the very purpose of its creation.
In the memorandum, the TYCM mentioned about the population of tribal communities in the state; land holding system in the hill districts; ST Reservation Policy in upgradation of post-graduate institute, IIT Imphal and deprivation of employment opportunity; to empower tribals contractors to award any developmental works in the hills; rectification and correction of the Typographical mistakes in the Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business and to setting up of ST/SC Grievances Cells.
