World Pharmacy Day observed

    IMPHAL, September 25: The Pharmacy Department, Government Polytechnic, Takyelpat today observed World Pharmacy Day under the theme “Simplifying your medicine no matter how complex”.

    The state has no proper laboratory or specific department to analyse drugs and medicines, said RK Sohansana while attending the function as the chief guest.

    People need to understand their drugs and medicines, she continued.

    Selection grade lecture N Swarnlata said the drugs and medicines produced today are very much complicated and as such pharmacies should always lend a helping hand to buyers of medicine on what could be a better option.

    The department has already submitted a proposal to the state government to attach a drug information centre in the college, she said.

    Head of Department, K Bhanumati presided over the function while Librarian K Chaoba attended as the guest of honour, while Selection Grade Lecturer RK Sohansana attended as the chief guest.

    Senior lecturer electrical engineer Oinam Dhanabir said that doctors’ have a way of complicating medicine prescription and as such the pharmacies should help the buyers.
