MPHAL, October 8: In view of the volatile atmosphere prevailing in Thoubal district and the likelihood occurrence of violence and breach of peace during the observance of the ensuing Durga Pujah Festival which commence from October 10, 2013, the district magistrate of the district under sub section of 2 of Section 144 Cr PC do hereby prohibit/ban carrying of stick, stones, firearms, weapons and other explosive materials i.e. crackers, bambulla etc with effect from October 9, 2013 onwards until further orders. The order shall be in effect from 6:00 am of October 9, 2013.
