IMPHAL, Oct 2: The District Magistrate of Imphal East district has imposed 144 CrPC following a report of the superintendent of police of Imphal East district which said that there is likelihood of causing serious breach of peace, disturbances to public tranquillity and grave danger to human lives and properties in the area which is described in the schedule of sub section 2 of section 144 Cr. PC, 1973 and because of the unlawful activities of some anti-social elements for furtherance of their designs in the district, said an order of the District Magistrate.
This order shall not apply to the agencies of the Government involved in the enforcement of law and order and the maintenance of essential services, it said.
Further, persons who want to take out procession, public meeting, rally within the schedule of area may apply to the District Magistrate for permission and they shall not take out procession, meeting etc until permission is obtained by them.
