AMWJU team discusses journalist wefare issues with CM

    IMPHAL, Oct 12: The president of All Manipur Working Journalist Unions’ (AMWJU) along with the members of the Standing Committee members today met Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh at his official residence at 9:00 am, said a press release of the AMWJU.

    A detailed and deep discussion was made during the meeting on the welfare of the journalists with the CM assuring the visiting team to do the needful as early as possible, it said.

    The meeting was also attended by former president of AMWJU, ex Minister N Biren Singh. The AMWJU team has also submitted a memorandum of 15 point charter of demands that include increase of DIPR identity card to journalists, to conduct external press tour, to provide a press room at Imphal airport and AMWJU branch offices at Moreh, Jiribam, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Mao.

    The visiting team also urged the Chief Minister to conduct rural reporting program for every month at the far flung remote area of the state, it said.
