IMPHAL, Oct 3: A police constable posted at Thoubal police station, sustained serious injury after being knocked down by a truck of the 15 Asssam Rifles, this afternoon at Thoubal crossing.
The victim is identified as Md Firoz Khan (34), son of Md Mahirudding of Thoubal Moijing Wangma Taba. He is reportedly undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.
Police sources said that the victim was heading towards Imphal on his Honda Activa when he was knocked down by the truck (No MNO5/C-4866) coming from opposite direction.
A case has been registered at the concerned police station in connection with the incident.
