Bank of India Thoubal Branch inaugurated

IMPHAL, October 10: The Thoubal Branch of Bank of India (BOI) was inaugurated today in a simple function with DC Thoubal District T Ranjit attending as chief guest.

The function was attended by BOI Zonal Office, Guwahati Chief Manager Sanjeev Kumar and ex-CMO Thoubal Dr Ksh Manglem as president and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, T Ranjit stated that so far there are 13 Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) Booth being opened at different place of the district including at District Headquarter, Kakching Keithel and Mini Secretariat DC Office.

He continued that there is also a plan to open an ATM Booth at the District SP office saying that , he has been trying to open branches of different banks in the district for the convenience of government employees, pensioners and businessmen.

The competition between the different bank helps in developing the bank sector, he said before adding that there are already six banks being opened in the district which provides Core Banking Solution facility.

Moreover, efforts are on for opening a new SBI Branch with an ATM Booth in Yairipok and Wangjing, he said.

While taking part in the function, O Khogendra, Branch Manager said with the opening of today’s BOI branch in the district, there are now three branches of BOI in Manipur others being the Imphal Branch and Sainik School Branch.

Stating that the new branch would try to open an ATM Booth for the general public soon and that it aims at satisfying customers of small business market, rural market including corporate medium business, he said the bank will provide Home Loan, Vehicle Loan, Education Loan, Personal Loan, Pensioner Loan, Holiday Loan and few others to people.
