Directorate of Transport effects traffic regulations and parking places on “Bor Pujah“ day

IMPHAL, October 11: The Directorate of Transport, Government of Manipur in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 115/117 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and in order to ensure safety and convenience of the devotees and general public on the day of ‘’Bor Pujah’’ of Hiyanthang Lairembi Temple, Hiyangthang to be held on October 12, has enforced several traffic regulations and parking places on the day till the puja is over.

According to a statement, no motor vehicles including cycles, rickshaws etc except the vehicles belonging to VIPs, ambulances, fire-brigades, security personnel and Magistrates on duty will be allowed to proceed beyond Phuramakhong and Tarahei Konjil point on the Mayang Imphal Road; Hiyangthang Kangjeibung from Ningombam Mekola Hiyangthang Road; Kamakhya Pemton College Ground from Irom Meijrao Road and Saurou Ground Mayang Imphal side.

However, light motor vehicles, two wheelers, auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws coming from Tiddim road and willing to proceed upto Hiyangthang Kangjeibung via Nambol, Mekola, Ningombam, Kodompokpi Lamkhai and Malom will be allowed.

Besides, all motor vehicles coming from Mayang Imphal side and willing to proceed upto Imphal will be diverted towards Haoreibi along the Imphal River bank and all motor vehicles coming from Imphal towards Hiyangthang will also be diverted towards Ningombam side from Phuramakhong.
