IMPHAL, October 5: Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FRIENDS) has cautioned that the time has come for the people of the state to check whether there are any chemical substances which are hazardous to health in eatable items.
A press statement of FRIENDS said there is a need of concerted effort from the people of the state in maintaining a healthy society free of chemical substances adding that a meeting of FRIENDS chaired by its president Sapamcha Jadumani held on October 5 had decided to conduct extensive drive to check whether there are any chemical substances added in various eatable items sold in the market and also elected volunteers to do the needful.
