KANGPOKPI, October 11: The Kuki Students` Organization Sadar Hills while condemning the O Ibobi led government of Manipur in the strongest term and alleging a discriminatory attitude to the tribal people in one way or the other today declared its fullest support and endorsement to the Joint Committee of Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai and Saikul Area Naga People`s Organization 48-hrs bandh.

Thangminlen Kipgen, President KSO-SH while speaking to media persons this evening at Kangpokpi said that the demand of the Joint Committee of KISG and SANPO is genuine and legitimate and for the cause of all tribal people in the state.

He continued that O Ibobi led state govt has continuously executed its discriminate policy to the tribal peoples of the state for the past many years in one way or the other while adding that the silence of the state govt over the memorandum submitted to the Dy CM on September 25 for cancellation of Home Department`s Notification of June, 2011 wherein more than 120 villages of Saikul Sub-Division under Sadar Hills including some villages of Ukhrul Dist have been included respectively in Imphal East and Thoubal District once again.

In the meantime, the student body also declared its fullest support and endorsement to the Joint Committee of KISG and SANPO imposition of 48-hrs Senapati District bandh from midnight of 14 Oct. to midnight of October 16.

The student body urged vehicle owners, business outlets and others except those activities exempted from the purview of the bandh by the committee to stay away from their respective daily activities in honour of the Joint Committee of KISG & SANPO demand.

KSO-SH further warned to take up more fierce agitations in support of the genuine demand by the Joint Committee if the government remains silent even after the 48-hrs bandh.
