Legal aid team formed to support Muzaffarnagar riot victims

    IMPHAL, October 8: A meeting of prominent lawyers held at Muzaffarnagar unanimously resolved to offer legal aid and services free of charge to those affected by the riot that rocked the city last month.

    The meeting was organized under the auspices of the Popular Front of India and was headed by Advocate K.P. Muhamad Sharif, Legal Advisor of the Front.

    The Muzaffarnagar Legal Aid Committee will commence discussion of cases pertaining to the riot and is an attempt to rebuild the trust of the affected people in the legal system and the spirit of secularism of the country. availing free legal aid to the needy will take away a part of the burden for the unfortunate victims and will help in mitigating the problems being faced by them due to the riot, a press release signed by Mufti Arshad Hussain, PRO, Popular Front of India, Manipur State mentioned. The legal aid Committee consists of Advocate Sahir Ahmed as Chairman, Muhammed Azam Shamsi and Choudhury Nawab Ali as Joint Chairman, Convenor Ekram Raz, Sajid Rana and Members Mazahir Hussain, Sehzadi Ahmed Sidiqui, Nayeem Akhtar Sidiqui, Aklim Ahmed, Haider Mehndi Zaidi, Salim Ahmed, S Muhammed, Muhammed Sarfaraz Ahmed Zulfikar Ali etc.
