JIRIBAM, October 26: Personnel of the 5th Manipur Rifles on duty at the Dolakhal Railway line construction site arrested a cadre of the United Tribal Liberation Army (SK Thadou) while trying to serve a monetary demand letter to one of the companies working at the site.
The arrested individual is identified as Lulun, 27, son of Thana, Lalhnom, Sub-division, Tamenglong and was handed over to the Jiribam Police this afternoon at 2.
A paper which had a monetary demand note was recovered from his possession, sources informed.
Meanwhile, the Jiribam police after taking up an FIR have transferred the arrested militant to the Tousem Sub-Division police station.
A source informed that the transfer was made as the individual was arrested outside the jurisdiction of the Jiribam police. It may be mentioned that on July 17, altogether 45 cadres of the UTLA (SK Thadou) led by its chairman SK Thadou had surrendered along with 42 arms.
