Manipur clinches five gold on second day of amateur muaythai championship

    IMPHAL, October 12: Manipur has bagged five goals on the second day of the three days 8th National Amateur Muaythai Championship held at the Boxing Stadium, Khuman Lampak.

    The championship is being organized by the Manipur Amateur Muaythai Federation under the All India Amateur Muaythai Federation and is participated by atheletes from six different states- Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Orissa, West Bengal and Haryana.

    The first Gold of the day was clinched by Assam’s Pranju Bora by defeating L Biraj of Manipur in the 48-51 kg, sub junior boys.

    In other finals conducted today, Dipankar Baruah of Assam defeated Ch Michael of Manipur in the 54-57 kg, sub junior boys; A Rahul of Manipur defeated Bikash Saikia of Assam in the 35-37 kg sub junior boys; S Thoiba of Manipur defeated N Naoba of Manipur in the 45-48 kg sub junior boys; N Deepak Singh of Manipur defeated Dipu Chutia of Assam in the 45-48 kg junior boys; Y Basanta Singh of Manipur defeated Pranab Baruah of Assam in the 48-51 junior boys; L Ranjan Singh of Assam defeated Arnold Baruah of Assam in the 57-60 kg junior boys.

    In other bouts conducted in the evening session, A Smart Singh, Manipur defeated Jugaraj Dutta Assam in the 57-60 kg youth boys category.
