IMPHAL, October 22: The monthly discussions with the participation of District Level Officers, held under the auspices of the District Administration Chandel in different places of the District to discuss and improve on the various schemes being carried out under various Departments commenced at 11 am at the Hall of Khangbarol Block today. The meeting is a part of the regular effort of the District Administration to interact with the people and appraise their situation and also to collect feedbacks for the various works being carried out in the District. Presiding over the meeting, Th. Chittaranjan Singh, Deputy Commissioner Chandel stressed on the importance of the meeting in monitoring the welfare of the people in the District efficiently and instructed the officers to submit the staff list of their respective offices at the earliest in view of the upcoming lok Sabha election. The DC also gave strict instruction to the concerned officers to complete their tasks regarding the economic census so that the documents can be submitted to the centre in time, while assuring of improved efficiency in distributing foodgrains to the actual consumers under the National Food Security Act in an answer to the queries put up by Doumang Haokip, VP of Kuki Students’ Union. Various other issues relating to health, horticulture, polio vaccination and education were discussed and complaints were noted after which the DC issued strict instructions to the concerned officials to streamline and perform their duties to the optimum, thanking the people of the region for their cooperation and participation in making the meeting a useful and beneficial one.
