IMPHAL, October 11: “The loss of India’s land is a loss to Manipur, likewise, the loss of Manipur’s land is also a loss to India. On the issue of border fencing, there is no compromise for an inch of land by the government of Manipur.”

The above statement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who also holds the Home portfolio in the Congress Workers’ Conference at the Multipurpose Community Hall, Kakching as chief guest of the function.

He further said that due to certain technicalities and administrative protocol, the state government had to maintain silence, even though the Chief Minister has been urging the central leaders to resolve the issue.

Distracting from the boundary issue, Gaikhangam expressed that the Congress party is not a political party which would remain silent adding that the party is working throughout the year unlike other political parties of the state which become active only at the time of election.
