IMPHAL, 8 Oct: As part of the year long Oriental College Golden Jubilee Celebration, a State level seminar on History of Manipur (Meidingu Kyamba to Bhagyachandra) will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of October 2013 at the college.
A press release signed by M Lokendro, convenor, Media Committee Celebration (OCGJC) 2013 stated that the seminar is being organized with the aim of sharing the knowledge and newly acquired research findings by various research scholars and academicians of the State and is a joint effort with Manipur Historical Society, Imphal. Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur will sponsor the event and is being anticipated to add a new impetus to the scientific study and research activities on the history and culture of Manipur. Seminar papers can be submitted before the 16th of October and interested participants can submit duly filled proforma registration form with a fee of Rs. 200 each before 19th Oct. The release also states that participants from outside the State will be provided lodging as well as TA/DA according to UGC guidelines.
