IMPHAL, October 23: The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has wished the people for a welfare and peaceful land where all the people get their deserving human rights on the occasion of United Nations Day and hailed the objectives of the UN which aims at bringing stability and tranquility around the globe.
In a statement signed by Leibakngakpa Luwang, asst secy, publicity and propaganda of PREPAK, it stated that the outfit endorsed the role and effort of the UN to let a person live free from oppression and atrocities.
The party said one of the important components of the UN is Universal Declaration of Human Rights – 1948 consisting of 30 declarations where it stressed that every person should be entitled with all the deserving human rights and other privileges noting that according to the declaration, every single person is entitled to enjoy all the rights and freedoms enshrined in it regardless of the persons’ religion, caste, language, gender etc.
Asserting that one should not manipulate the rights and freedoms provided in the declaration in his own will, the outfit maintained that the day of United Nations Day should be the day where all the countries in the world divulges whether a person is getting all the privileges enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – 1948.
Furthermore, the PREPAK alleged that India, though it accepted the Right to Self determination in 1979, has been trying to shy away from the declaration even after knowing that it is an already universal accepted declaration.
