IMPHAL, October 20: The six cadres of armed outfit PREPAK (Pro) who have been reportedly taking shelter at a state security post at Moreh, were escorted to Thoubal district Police head quarter today under a heavy security arrangement.
The militant cadres were escorted by a joint team of police commandos of Imphal East and Thoubal district.
The six have been identified as Athoi Maring alias Angshan Phum, 24, son of Lokendro (Army no. 3990) of Pallel Langol Khunou; T Umajih Singh alias Thangamda, 21, (Army No. 41935) son of T Khamba Singh of Nambol Thangtek; Khundrakpam Ajay alias Ishorchandra, 24, son of Kh Biren Singh (army no.42952) of Nambol Phoijing; Sorokhaibam Ibomcha alias Uremba, 38, son of S Angou Singh of Moreh ward no.4 and Santosh Bahadur alias Dhan Bahadur alias Egypt, 27, son of Ram Bahadur of I.T road, Senapati.
The cadres reportedly escaped from a camp of the outfit located at Nunglut, Myanmar along with five AK series Rifles along with 15 magazines, 375 live ammunitions. They are likely to join the peace process shortly.
This is the second time that cadres of the outfit have come out to join the mainstream to join the peace process.
Recently, a handful of cadres of the outfit led by Boby Mangang, laid down weapons before the Chief Minister, at his office chamber.
