IMPHAL, October 11: The Department of Sociology, Manipur University, Manipur Sociology Society today felicitated former head of department, department of Sociology, Nagaland University prof. Rajendra Kshetri who was conferred a Professorship in Sociology on September 9 by the Nagaland University.
The monthly lecture series was also held along with the felicitation programme on the topic Sociology of Performance and construction of meaning in Sumang Lila.
Speaking at the function, Dean of Social Sciences, Manipur University Prof E Bijoykumar Singh said a very long dream of introducing MA Sociology course in Manipur University was fulfilled this year and the first professorship in Sociology was conferred to Prof Rajendra Kshetre by Nagaland University on September 9 this year.
