IMPHAL, October 13: The MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa constituency RK Anand today inspected roads, drainage system and insufficient supply of drinking water in the constituency.
The inspection tour was conducted after inaugurating ‘Friends’ Gym’ constructed under the MLA Local Area Development Fund and the Keisam Leikai Market Shed (Haoreima Shambubi Keithel) constructed under the Manipur Development Society funding.
Speaking to media persons during the inspection, RK Anand said a water supply plant is under construction for the sufficient supply of potable water to the general public, however due to lack of funds, work progress is slow.
However, the Government will be asked for additional funding so as to expedite the construction process, he assured.
He said his constituency has been facing scarcity of drinking water since the past ten years and as such it is mandatory for authorities to complete the construction of the water supply at the earliest.
Elaborating on the deplorable condition of the roads in his constituency, he said he will certainly put efforts to start repairing works at the earliest, and as for the bad drainage system which has always inundated the roads during the rainy season, works will taken up to provide proper subways from the roadside drains to the Nambul river which runs along Mayai Lambi.
