IMPHAL, October 11: The year-long celebration of “Sana Phudongba” being organized by Sawombung Sangeet Samaj concluded today.
The function held at the hall of the Sawombung Samaj was attended by Dr Thokchom Meina MP as chief guest, S Bedeshwar Sharma secretary- Manipur State Kala Academy as guest of honour and Kh Inaobi Singh president – Sangeet Samaj as president.
A souvenir to mark the 50th year of the Sangeet Samaj was also released at the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Thokchom Meina praised the various remarkable contributions being made by the Samaj towards preservation and development of arts and culture of the State over the years, promising every possible assistance to the Samaj from the side of the State Government.
The highlight of the celebration was a display of classical and contemporary dances, acrobatic drums, classical and indigenous musical instruments that enthralled the audience present.
