IMPHAL, October 14: The Seram Mangi Singh Foundation, Imphal has instituted an Award called the `Seram Mangi Singh Memorial Award` to be presented annually on the occasion of the death anniversary of late Seram Mangi Singh, which falls on December 11 every year. The award will be given to an eminent personality of Manipur in any of the fields of arts, culture, literature, language or journalism, conveyed a release of the Seram Mangi Singh Foundation.
The release further said that the Foundation will decide the areas, fields of the Award for every year.
For this year, the Seram Mangi Singh Memorial Award for the year 2013 will be given to a journalist, who has pursued rural reporting (development) during the period from January 1, to October 15, 2013.
Journalists belonging to any print or electronic media operating in Manipur can apply for the Award along with their bio-data, passport size photograph and copies of the reports pertaining to rural reporting published/broadcast/telecast during the said period, it said.
Publications//broadcast/ telecast should be in Manipuri, English or any of the local dialects spoken in Manipur. In respect of the reports in local dialects, an English or Manipuri version of the reports should be submitted along with the application. Journalists of electronic media should submit the reports in Compact Discs, it said.
Duly verified application by the editor of the newspaper/periodical/electronic media in which the reports were published along with the required documents may be submitted to Perfect Computer, Keishampat Airport Road, Laisom Leirak Machin, Imphal -795001 on or before October 31, 2013, it said.
