IMPHAL, October 10: Irom Chanu Sharmila who has been on a fast unto death for over 12 years demanding the repeal of AFSPA, was produced before the JMIC Imphal, this morning around 10:45 as part of her routine appearance.
While speaking to media persons, Sharmila expressed her disappointment over the report of a sculptor carving her life size statue without her knowledge and vehemently opposed the idea.
Further reiterating her stand on non-violence, Sharmila expressed optimism that her struggle will see the light of the day like that of Gandhi who freed India from the British with non-violence movement.
She opined that the people of Manipur have forgotten her physical struggle when people from other states are campaigning for her by showing their solidarity.
