IMPHAL, October 21: The Manipur Theatre Day and closing function of the 44th short play completion and prize distribution function was hosted at Manipur Dramatic Union by the Theatre Centre, Manipur today.
During the function floral tributes were was paid to the portrait founder president of the centre S Lolit Singh and prizes were distributed to the participants and winners of the completion at the short play completion.
Speaking during the function MLA Y Surchandra said that involvement in drama has been reduced in the state and thus the culture has gone backward.
President, Theatre Centre Manipur, Wareppa Naba reminded that it will be a great pleasure if the state government implements the culture policies and establish a university for the development of art and culture and drama in the state.
He further said that the objective for organizing such competition is to showcase the talents in the form of drama and will organize it every year.
