LAMKA, October 14: The United Socialist Revolutionary Army (USRA) a signatory of the Suspension of Operation under the Kuki National Organization (KNO), today, commemorated its 9th Foundation Day.
The ‘The IX Reformation day’ was held at the Chongkhojou designated camp of the outfit, located at CCpur`s Henglep Sub Division.
Villagers and chiefs from almost 40 villages of the area gathered during the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the President and also the chief-in-command of the outfit, Lalminthang said “Last year we had a theme base on unity during the Reformation day observation, but since there has been an improvement on that count, this year the main focus has been on the Biblical verse “Where you trod will be your land”.
The president also asked for the co-operation from the public in carrying out the outfit’s motto of “Fight unto death for the nation”.
General secy Kennedy Vaiphei who also spoke on the occasion said that the group will build a better atmosphere with the co-operation from the public particularly the Vaiphei community that will be conducive for development, be it in the field of education, moral and religion.
“The USRA or the Vaiphei community like to live in peace and harmony with its brethren ,be it the Kukis or the Zomis”, he added.
Vaiphei continued that the URSA will focus its resource on the prohibition of abusive substances like alcohol/liquor and drugs and added that anyone found in procession will be taken to task.
