Assam Rifles apprehends KYKL cadre

IMPHAL, Nov 6: Based on specific information regarding infiltration of UG cadres from Myanmar, troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a Check Post on NH-102 and apprehended one KYKL cadre on Nov 4, 2013, said a press release from PRO IGAR (South).

The apprehendee was identified as No-023 SS Sgt Aheibam Inao Singh alias Subash, 28, son of Aheibam Shyam Kishore Singh of Khumbi Khuga Wangma, PO/PS Khumbi, in Bishnupur district, it said and adding that one camera, one mobile phone, Burmese Currency worth 550/-, Indian Currency worth Rs 6,131/ and a CD containing photographs of UG camp, were recovered from his possession. The apprehendee along with recovered items was handed over to Imphal West Police Station.

In the same press release, it is conveyed that the troops of 6 DOGRA of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) participated in the Church programme at Chehyang village of Khenjoi block in Chandel district.

The troops interacted with locals, children and applauded the performance of church choir and also organised lunch for the villagers, it said and adding that the function reiterated the message of peace, love and brotherhood and the locals applauded the whole hearted efforts of the Unit.
