JIRIBAM, November 2: The All Jiribam Contract Lecturers’ Association (AJICLAO) Jiribam has expressed unhappiness over the state government for not releasing the salaries of contract lecturers of schools before Ningol Chakkouba even though regular lecturers have already received theirs.
In a statement, the association alleged that the act of the government smacks of biasness, which has hurt the sentiments of the contract lecturers saying that the salary of a contract lecturer is much lesser than that of a regular lecturer.
Further, it hailed the efforts shown by the state Education minister during a meeting with representatives of the AMSU District Committee Jiribam, MSF Special Branch Jiribam, DESAM Local Council Jiribam and KSA Jiri Unit at his office chamber on October 25 held in the aftermath of the various democratic agitation taken up by the students’ organizations demanding government intervention in the lack of infrastructures and facilities faced by institutes under Jiribam sub-division.
During the meeting, the minister had assured that the demands sought by the students’ organization will be met and that he himself will inspect those institutes which have been facing slew of problems.
