Identification camp for CWSN held

IMPHAL, November 9: A free medical assessment/ identification camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) was organized under the inclusive education of Sarva Shiksha Abiyan/ State Mission Authority, Manipur for entire IMC block today at Kebol Higher Secondary at Tera Bazar.

Speaking to media person at the camp special teacher SSA Aruna stated that the camp is being organized to identify the CWSN to distribute aids and appliances to ease their movement in attending schools.

Claiming that there are many CWSN who could not come to school due to monetary problems despite having the desire to get education, Aruna maintained that providing such aid can not only improve the lives of the children but also gives opportunity for education.

SSA has tie-up with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) to provide aids and appliances to the CWSN, she said and appealed to the parents not to discourage CWSN at their homes and not to let benefit slip by.

During the camp 14 mentally retarded, 17 ortho, six hearing impaired and 24 visually impaired patients of IMC block were indentified today.  

Similar camps will also be organized for Wangoi block at Wangoi BRC and Haorang Sabal block at Sardar Patel Higher Secondary Schook respectively.
