IMPHAL, November 27: The Kangleipak Students’ Association, KSA observed its 8th Foundation Day at the Manipur Dramatic Union, MDU.
Addressing the function as the chief guest, P Dhanakumar chairman, Board of Secondary Education, Manipur said the students need vision.
Without vision, students cannot bring about the needed change in the society, he continued.
The function was also attended by KSA president Th Premananda and secretary Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur Sarangajit Khundrakpam as president and guest of honour respectively.
P Dhanakumar said that student organizations and the general public need to come close together and work to bring quality education in the state.
Respect for our leaders amongst the general public is not much, he opined before continuing that there is also lack of unity amongst the general public.
Now the students have to play a big role in bringing the much needed changes in our society, he observed.
He further elaborated that the youths need to learn early on that they have the responsibility of bringing changes for the coming generations to enjoy.
Sarangajit seconded the chairman’s speech that the students have to play an important role in bringing quality education.
The COHSEM secretary also said that a strong students’ body is necessary for encourage development in education.
Toppers and meritorious students are always encouraged by local clubs, NGOs and others by organizing felicitation programmes, however, none has ever thought about those who have failed, he observed.
The more there are failures in the state, the more it would be harmful for education, he observed before expressing that the society needs to think deeply and act fast on the issue.
Meanwhile, the Jiribam unit of the association had also observed the bay at the Jiribam Higher Secondary School auditorium hall.
