Marathon festival held at Bangalore

IMPHAL, November 12: Manipuri runners dominate the 7th edition of Bangalore Ultra, a two day marathon festival in India’s southern city of Bangalore on November 9 and 10 with Brojen Nongmaithem bagging the silver medal in the 50 km men’s open category, while, Spencer Awungshi finishing at the pole position in the 25 km open category.

In the 50km men’s open category, Athreva Chidambi took pole position clocking 04:00:01and Brojen Nongmaithem ended in the second spot clocking 04:34:54; while second runner up Shuvishek Rai clocked 04:46:31.

In the 25km open category competition, Spencer Awungshi clocked 01:44:29 for the pole position while Ashok Nath clocked 01:45:10 and Ullas Narayana clocked 01:44:53 for the first and second runners up titles.

According to an enthusiast runner from Manipur, settled in the southern city, Bangalore Ultra was rated among the top 100 footraces to run on the planet, India’s first Ultra marathon remains a big favourite of the runners!

As part of multi city run across India for women’s fitness, Megapink-Imphal will be held and it will be hosted by Windchasers running group to encourage people to live free on November 24 at 6.30 am simultaneously in multiple across the country.

The run which is said to be a Milind Soman Initiative and promoted by the Pinkathon,India’s first and largest women’s 10km running event, is expected to be held around Khuman Lampak sports complex in Imphal.
