MLA announces Rs 1 lakh bounty for info on `terror bombers`

IMPHAL, November 3: Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan has come out strongly against the terror attacks carried out in the city lately. A reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced by the MLA for any police personnel who can arrest the perpetrators of the bomb attacks or to anyone who provides information leading to their capture.

“This is an act of cowards, of terrorists who have no respect for the public, they should be caught and befitting punishment be awarded,” Joykishan told mediapersons at his Thangmeiband residence today.

He further mentioned that the series of bombings have injured many innocent civilians and three persons had lost their lives. Two of the recent series of bombings have occurred within his constituency and this is condemnable in the highest manner, he added.

Stating the fact that the festive time of Ningol-Chakouba and Diwali are a time of joy and happiness, many throng the market areas to buy gifts for Chakouba festival, but the terror bombs have caused paranoia among the public and apprehension of becoming a victim of the next blast is there, Joykishan said.

He mentioned that the pubic along with state or non-state, civil organizations, meira paibis need to face this threat and root out the perpetrators, for this a united effort is required irrespective of community or political color.  

It may be mentioned that in various incidents of bombings perpetrated in the rest of the nation, the state government announces rewards for information leading to the capture of the terrorists.
