IMPHAL, Novenver 18: An irate mob stormed Yaingnagpokpi police station on Sunday night around10:30 demanding the immediate release of four individuals who were reportedly arrested by the police for gambling (Lagao).
Reports said that some police personnel of Yaingangpokpi conducted a drive in the bazar area and arrested four persons who were gambling Lagao.
After they were taken to the station, the villagers came to the post and demanded their immediate release. The mob later dismantled the sentry post, pelted stones inside the police station. Later, the police fired blanks rounds to control the mob.
The problem was however resolved today after the arrested persons were released.
