IMPHAL, Nov24: The Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) has today alleged that two primary teachers, who are members of the Village Education Committee of Thambal Leima Govt Aided High School, are using fake certificates.
In this connection, a press conference was today held at the office of the Manipur Student Federation (MSF).
During the press conference, Kh Serajuddin vice-president of MSF told media persons that there is abnorrmality in the functioning of Village Education Committee (VEC) of Thambal Leima High School – a Govt aided school at Iram Shiphai under Wangoi ZEO.
Serajuddin told that the members of the VEC should be selected distributively from the surrounding villages of a school whereas in the case of this school, three VEC members such as Haobijam Kumar, Chongtham Birendra Kumar and Jenny Waikhom were selected from one location i.e. from Iram Shipai Maning Leikai.
Further, exposing the intensity of the issue, the VP alleged that according to records, Haobijam Kumar graduated from MB Colleges in the year 1997 and Chongtham Birendra Kumar passed out his graduation in 1986 from Mayai Lambi Colleges and the third member Jenny Waikhom is presently a government employee.
Regarding this matter, MSF made an enquiry on the educational status of the said teachers and the name of Haobijam Kumar and Chongtham Birendra Kumar were not available in the register of the respective colleges.
In this connection, MSF informed the issues to the concerned ZEO of Wangoi and the concerned ZEO Nabakishore suggested putting up the issue to the concerned local MLA and education minister, Serajuddin told and adding that such politicizing of education of condemnable which showing irresponsibility of the ZEO and further urging to Manipur Govt for taking prompt take action.
