IMPHAL, Nov 3 (NEPS): Oken Jeet Sandham, President K-1 South Asia and Honorary Chairman of the K-1 Federation of India, said he was pursuing with the world K-1 leaders to give opportunity to host the nest Asian K-1 Championship at Imphal City. “I am hopeful that the next Asian K-1 Championship may be held in India and for which Imphal City has been chosen for the event,” he said this while delivering his speech during the K-1 India Seminar held on November 2, 2013 at the Conference Hall of the Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak, Imphal, India.
During the Seminar, the members present had discussed in details as to how they would host such an International K-1 Championship at Imphal. All have unanimously agreed to have a very wide range of Organizing Committee and other various Sub-Committees in order to stage the Championship smoothly.
An appreciation message which was sent by President of the Asian K-1 Federation was also read out by O Manglemjao, Secretary General of the K-1 South Asia and Chairman Technical Committee of the K-1 Federation of India (K-1FI).
In the message, the President of the Asian K-1 Federation appreciated the K-1 Federation of India for it has promoted and developed K-1 in various parts of India. It also appreciated the K-1 Federation of India for the decision to host Asian K-1 Championship for the first time in India at Imphal.
Secretary General of the Manipur K-1 Association, Dr Tarun Kn Tekcham, delivered the welcome address while Nabachandra, Executive Member of K-1 Federation of India chaired the occasion.
Large number of K-1 Federation of India members and the members from the host Manipur K-1 Association attended the K-1 National Seminar.
