IMPHAL, November 7: ‘In our state there is no freedom of expression for the media’, said Sharmila during a joint meeting with members of the press and Just Peace Foundation today at the security ward of Jawaharal Lal Nehru Institute Medical Sciences. She further stated that she will never take her agitation backward until and unless she gets her demand for the full repeal of Armed Force Special Force Act (AFSPA).

She continued, saying that the state government is suppressing her campaign and asserted that she did not jump into her agitation to die but rather to save the innocent people who are killed by the security personnel under the shield of AFSPA.

She further said that the various civil society organisations of the state who are her supporters have been working within the bounds of their own and stressed the need for them to work together with a feeling of oneness to achieve the ultimate goal, she said

She also said that on March next year she will be released from judicial custody after completing her jail term and after the day of her release she will again be re-arrested sensing the pulse of the public, she said.
