IMPHAL, November 18: The Planning Commission senior consultant Vikram Srivastava who has been on a five day visit to the state recently has expressed his satisfaction with the developmental works undertaken in the state.
A reliable source said that during his five-day visit to Manipur, Vikram Srivastava, Senior IPS assured timely release of pending funds for projects under SPA, ACA and Central Sector.
The senior consultant has visited work sites of Capital Project, Chingmeirong (Assembly Complex, high Court and Civil Secretariat) on the first day of his visit, which was followed by a similar visit to the the Mini- Secretariat Building of Bishnupur, various work sites of LDA for removal of Phumdi and conservation and management of Loktak Lake etc on the second day, sources informed.
He has also visited Churachandpur district where he has inspected the construction site of Mini-Secretariat building, the TD Block BSF Camp pearsonmum, CCpur under tribal area inclusive Infrastructure Phase-I.
During the third day, he inspected the Thoubal Multipurpose Project and the project site and inspected progress of work at the dam site, before visiting the City Convention Centre and JNIMS on his way back, the source added.
In the afternoon of his third day in the state, he left for Senapati and inspected progress of works on the Mini Secretariat building, and later interacted with the local populace.
On the fourth day of his visit, he inspected work taken up at Tupul and Awangkhul along the Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal Railway.
On November 15, he called on the Governor, chief secretary and addl chief secretary and discussed the work progress of different central projects in the state.
He was accompanied by various officials of relevant departments during his visit.
The state chief secretary also invited him for the Sangai Festival, informed the source.
After seeing the work progress, he expressed his satisfaction and assured the state government to release the pending funds of the centrally sponsored schemes.
