Training programme held for minority women

IMPHAL, November 18: A six days’ training programme on Leadership Development for Minority Women has been continued from yesterday at Hangul village in Thoubal district.

The training programme was organized by Rural Development Society (RDS), Wangjing under the sponsorship of ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt of India.

During the training programme, the project coordinator of RDS L Damu said that RDS is organizing such training programme at different five locations and the present of the fourth one, adding that all training programme is organized for six days. He also mentioned other three locations such as Sabal Khunaou under Sangaiyumpham Part I Gram Panchayat organized from September 29 to October 4 and at Pulleipokpi of the same GP from October 20 to 25, and another one at Mairelsul from Nov 4 to 9 in the same GP. The fifth programme will be held at Phundrei under Langathel Gram Panchayat from Dec 2 to 9.

During the training programme, several resource persons delivered and will be delivered on the issue of woman empowerment and their health related issues.

During today’s training programme, the secretary of IRDSO Wangjing Nonibala Narengbam delivered a lecture on ‘Social Empowerment of Women and Women Rights’ and retired District Mass Media Officer, N Landhon delivered a lecture on ‘Health Education, Immunization, Food and Nutrition with Special Reference to Women and Children’.
