IMPHAL, Dec 27: A team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) Police led by Inspector RK Bikramjit Singh, OC/NAB-PS under the supervision of S Gautam Singh, SP/NAB seized 805 kgs of contraband Ganja from Keithelmanbi Junction, Imphal west district on December 26, 2013 at around 3: 30 pm.
A press release of the PRO Police department said, the seized Ganja was being carried by two persons identified as Madan Prasad, 49, son of (L) Brindaban (driver) and Nagmani Ram, 35 son of Sharab Das, both residents of Daud Nagar, Aurungabad, PS Daudagar, Bihar at present Nenachal Parking, Beltola Biharbari, Guwahati in a Tata Truck bearing registration No PB-13Y/ 8985.
The statement continued that the two accused persons were arrested and the said Tata Truck seized. The value of the seized Ganja in the grey market is about 8,50,000/-. A case has been registered in NAB PS and investigation is going on, it said.
