IMPHAL, December 11: The Manipur Peoples’ Party has today clarified that it had not joined the re-surveying of the Indo-Myanmar border fencing because the Congress has befooled the people with it’s decision to put the issue in its election manifesto.
Speaking to media persons at the MPP office, spokesperson MPP H Nabashyam said that the MPP is not deviating from the issue and is still considerate about the issue.
He continued that the party will continue to press for proportionate alignment of the border.
Decrying the government’s stance on the issue, he said that the present government continues to befool the people on the border issue, even though it could have been easily conducted.
He further condemned the government for its failure to arrest the killers of the MPP vice president, H Manisana and as such it would be wise to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Meanwhile, Chanura MPP president, Chandrakala condemned the state government for remaining silent spectators against the killing of wildlife birds in the state.
