IMPHAL, December 18: The first sitting of the two-day winter session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly began today.
Marking the first day, the House moved an obituary reference resolution on the demise of former MLAs including LS John, W Komol and P Munal and passed the eight report of the Business Advisory Committee, 2013 moved by the chief minister Okram Ibobi.
The obituary reference motion was participated beside the chief minister by RD and PR minister, Francis Ngajokpa; IFCD Minister, Ngamthang Haokip; Parliamentary Secretary of IPR and MI, K Meghachandra Singh; Kumbi MLA Bira; Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar and Wangjing Tentha MLA Brojen.
While sharing grief with the family members of the deceased the House recalled the contributions made by them for the state.
The House also observed two minutes silence honouring the departed soul.
LS John was twice elected to the 3rd Manipur Legislative Assembly from Saitu A/C in the year 1980 on a Janata Dal ticket and 5th Manipur Legislative Assembly in 1990 as Kangpokpi MLA from an INC ticket, W Komol was elected as Kumbi MLA in the year 1974 as an MPP candidate and while P Munal was elected as Wangkhem MLA as an Independent in the year 1980.
Meanwhile, the eight report of the BAC, 2013 moved by the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was unanimously passed by the House.
The House was adjourned till 11 am tomorrow.
