IMPHAL, December 27: State deputy chief minister Gaikhangam inaugurated the Langthabal Khoupum Community Hall at Langthabal Khoupam village, today.
Speaking at the inaugural of the community hall, the local MLA Karam Shyam who presided over the function said that he had been considering the construction of the community hall since 2002. He further mentioned that a film city will be built at Langthabal Kendra and an Eco-Park in Lilong Chajing.
Deputy chief minister Gaikhangam also inspected the water hand pump of Langthabal Khoupam which has been out of order for the last many years.
The inaugural function was also attended Agui Panmei, president Lok Jana Shakti Party of Langthabal A/C and Golmei Poudetchung Kabui, Langthabal Khoupam Lup-lakpa and G Soham Haomei, chairperson of Autonomous District Council Tamenglong as guests of honour.
People in every locality need a community hall to accommodate a public meeting or social gatherings of the locality, Gaikhangam said.
Praising the local MLA, the dy CM said that from the quality and structure of the community hall, it is quite evident that the MLA Local Area Development Fund of MLA Karam Shyam has been properly utilised.
Gaikhangam further praised the MLA for not differentiating between the hills and the valley and bringing development throughout his constituency.
He also mentioned that the tradition and culture will enhance relationship among the people of the different communities.
He also appreciated the people of Langthabal Khoupum village for their support and cooperation.
Three community halls have already been constructed in Langthabal Kendra and if people continue to support him, than within the five year term, the Langthabal constituency will be on the right track of development, he announced.
The local MLA also said that the PHED minister on being asked about the water supply in the constitutency had assured that pipe water will be made available in the constituency by March 2014.
