IMPHAL, December 12: Nupi Lal Lamjel and Ningshing Thouram was held today at Singjamei Super Market. Nk Dashini Devi flagged off the race which started from Nupi Lal Complex and culminated at Singjamei Super Market. Around 520 women from different parts of Manipur participated in the race.
Dashini Devi was the president at the event while Meishnam Ibemal Devi, Kakchingtabam Boramani and Shakhenbi Kabui were the presidium members.
Meanwhile, Nupi Lal day was also observed today at Elangbam Leikai Leirak Macha. It was organized by Nupi Meira Marup Elangbam Leikai Leirak Macha.
Members of woman organization took out a silent rally at Keishamthong and surrounding areas.
Similar function was observed at Pukhri Achouba Community Hall, Mantripukhri, by the United Manipur Muslim Women’s Development Organization (UMMWDO) and All Mantripukhri Protection and Resident Welfare Association.
Md Fajur Rahim, Chairman WAKF Board, Manipur and MLA Wabgai AC was the chief guest, Anwari Noojahan, president of UMMWDO was the president while O Henary, social worker, Zakir Hussain, advisor of All Manipur Muslim Organization Co-ordinating Committee; Chingsubam ongbi Wangambi Leima, president of Meitei National Front, K Shangnaidar Tontang, secretary of WSDC, Chandel District, Md Rabi Khan, general secretary, Muslim Advocate Legal Service Organization, Dr M Baharuddin Shah, general secretary, all Manipur Muslim College Teachers’s Association and assistant professor of department of geography, GP Women’s College, Md Farid Khan, president of All Manipur Muslim Students’ Organization and Md Aslam Khan, president of AMPRWA were the guests of honour.
Meanwhile, Hidam (o) Bandana of Thiyam Konjeng Awang Leikai finished first in the 35 years and above category; Saikhom Bideshini of Khangabok Awang Leikai finished first in 50 years and above, while, Thokchom Ibemhal of Khongjom finished first in 60 years and above.
