IMPHAL, December 2: Locals of Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai today staged a sit-in-protest at RIMS road today against the lobbing of a Chinese hand grenade at the residential courtyard of the deputy director of Health Service Dr Thakhellambam Saratchandra yesterday.
Speaking to media persons, protestors said that even though the hand grenade was retrieved safely it had created panic to the family and the locality.
The protestors further appealed to whoever was responsible for the act against carrying out such atrocious acts in the future.
A protestor further stated that the whole locality condemn such act of violence and if such acts are carried out in connection with official matters then it should be confined to the office premise and not in the residential areas.
The people of the state want peace and harmony and the act of placing bombs and lobbing them at residential areas will only destruct peace and induce fear to the people.
