Skeletal remains recovered

IMPHAL, December 20: The skeletal remains of a 22-year-old woman were recovered from the thick foliage at Nungtek area yesterday evening.  

Police sources said that local wood collectors stumbled over the remains at around 4 pm.

The deceased was wearing jeans pant and pink colour T-shirt. Besides, a mobile handset was recovered from near the body.

Later, the victim was confirmed to be one Lujonliu, 22, daughter of Gaguina of Wairangba Village Noney, Tamenglong district, after checking the SIM card.

It has been informed that Lujonliu left home last June following a quarrel with her family members and had remained traceless since. Her mortal remains have been deposited at the JNIMS mortuary.
