IMPHAL, January 2: A post-graduate student befriended a young college going woman on Facebook, raped her at a lodge after spiking her beverage and cheated her with promise to marry her only to upload her nude pictures on the internet through a fake account of her that he had created.
Making the allegations during a press meet at Cheirap Court today, the victim Sana (name changed) said she became friends with the accused Allam Rajak Makakmayum, son of Abdur Rajak Makakmayum of Hapta Golapati in 2011. Eventually, their relationship turned into a romantic affair.
In the month of August or September, 2012, Allam who was studying in Pune made a surprise visit to Tura in Meghalaya where Sana was undergoing a course at the College of Home Science, Central Agricultural University. In the afternoon they met at Sundari Complex cum Lodge. After drinking the coffee served to her she felt dizzy and blacked out thereafter. She found herself in bed with Allam after regaining consciousness and realized that she had been raped.
At the lodge itself, she pleaded with him to elope so that they can get married, Sana said but Allam persuaded her to wait for some years and sent her back to her hostel. She stated that they never met again after that incident and continued their long distance relationship through the phone.
However on December 20, 2013, when she arrived home for an academic break after completing her 3rd year examination, her brother told that her nude pictures were uploaded under a fake account in Facebook. She contacted Allam who confessed to having uploaded the pictures and told her that he was on the way to Manipur. However, Allam retracted on his statement later that same day and told Sana that he is actually in Delhi and will wait for her there.
Sana also charged the father of the accused of
threatening her and advising her not to disturb his family.
