IMPHAL, January 13: Asserting that there were innocent individuals from Khangabok, Thoubal among the five arrested on January 5 from Guwahati as cadres of the KCP (Lamphel), locals staged a sit in protest at the Khangabok Lamlong keithel.
The locals have also demanded the unconditional release of all individuals amongst the five from Khangabok.
General secretary of the Social Welfare Club, Khangabok Kh Nabachandra said that M Rupo, 39, son of (L) Nganba of Khangabok Part III Lamlong Makha; M Mahen, 42, son of Ibomcha of Khangabok Part III Makha leikai and N Ibo, 37 son of Ibochan who were claimed to be arrested along with KCP (Lamphel) publicity secretary from Assam are all innocent.
He also claimed that N Nabachandra, 47 son of (L) Kesho of Khangabok Makha Leikai who was arrested as the publicity secretary of KCP (Lamphel) is also innocent.
He has been living at Guwahati since some ten years ago, while both Rupo and Ibo had gone to Guwahati on January 2 to but A-Star cars, the local club general secretary claimed.
Mahen had gon in December last to buy a Tata Magic, he said before adding that all three had been staying with Nabachandra in looking for the vehicles.
The protestors further lamented the failure of the concerned outfit to clarify on the issue, and further appealed to clarify at the earliest.
