DIPR journalism course commences

IMPHAL, January 7: To gain entry into any field requires understanding the basics and without proper understanding of the basics, one cannot move forward, said Information and Public Relation principal secretary, Letkhogin Haokip.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the 15-day basic course in news reporting of the State Institute of Journalism, DIPR.

The training is being conducted at the Manipur Press Club.

He further appealed to the resource persons who will be conducting the training program to give proper basic training, and the trainees to be attentive during the course.

The training will help the trainees in their news reporting, he observed.

Director IPR, Wangkheimayum Rajen Singh attending the function as the president said to become a good reporter one need to understand the character, attitudes, habit of the people of the place.

A journalist earns little, but has a big responsibility, he observed.

A reporter needs to look from different angles to produce a presentable and good news report or photograph, he said.

He expressed that to produce presentable news or photograph should look in different aspects.

The State Institute of Journalists, DIPR was established in 1992 with the main objective of providing foundation to people who wants to be a reporter.

The 15-day course is participated by 38 trainees.
