IMPHAL, January 12: Unidentified persons trigged a medium intensity Improvised Explosive Device about 30 meters south east of the Assam Rifles Transit Camp at Khuman Lampak this early morning around 7.45 am.
The explosion which is suspected to be triggered from a remote occurred next to the boundary wall of the Khuman lampak Sports Complex, about 30 meters from the main gate of the AR transit camp.
The blast damaged parts of the boundary wall, though no one was injured.
Following the blast, high ranking officers of the state police including additional director general of police, PM Goud and additional director general of police (law and order) LM Khoute.
The police have taken up a case in this regard.
