IMPHAL, January 31: A combined force of Imphal east district police commando along with 16 AR Yainganpokpi post, 30 AR Lamlai post and 18 Sikh recovered 18 sophisticated automatic weapons from Sangram Tuiching village in Senapati district yesterday around 9 pm under Yainganpokpi police station.
According to a press release from PRO, police department, the 18 weapons which were recovered by the combined team of Imphal east district police commando led by M Rajen Singh, additional SP and assisted by P Achouba Meitei OC/CDO Imphal east commando along with the personnel of 16 AR, 30 AR Chingarel post and 18 Sikh recovered a large number of armed which were kept inside two bags hidden in bush at the foot hills of Sangram Tuiching village.
The recovered weapons were four AK- 56 rifles, two AK- 47 rifles, two M -16 rifles, two AK- 22 rifles, two SLR rifles, one M-15 rifle, one G-3 rifle, one M-21 rifle, one HK riffle and one Lethod gun.
It is further informed that the recovered weapons are suspected to have been removed from Samushang SoO camp of Kuki Liberation Army from where five cadres had deserted on January 2 last.
